How did one young, handsome, and wholesome Jewish single guy get stonewalled on Peacock’s Love Island USA? A former reality show contestant appeared to have a connection with Jewish Elan Bibas during “Casa Amor”. Elan stated to a fellow cast member on the show, he felt ghosted for the first time in where he has to see the person every day, as opposed to over text where the person is out of sight and out of mind. I also noticed the stark change and “ghosting” of Elan Bibas, and not just by the one girl he was coupled up with, but most of the reality tv show cast. My heart breaks for Elan Bibas watching the show as everyone talks about everyone else’s connections and Elan is just ignored by others.
How does one young, handsome guy on Love Island USA get totally looked over? Was it because he is Jewish? I can’t help but wonder. The show is painful to watch as Elan is the only single male on the show and no other members of the reality tv “dating” show even talk to him.
I sure hope I am wrong about Elan Bibas’ experience on Love Island USA. This is entirely my perspective as an outside viewer. This was painful to watch as a Jewish woman, and I may not be watching again as I only watched because I heard Bibas was on the show. I’m glad he made lifelong friends, and I hope to see more of him on the big screen.
I have to say, seeing the show brought up so many times I get treated differently because I am Jewish. Team Elan. Team Jewish.
